Tordenvind kajakkeventyr is to be found in Balsfjord in the county of Troms. On our sea kayakking trips we will show you North Norway´s fantastic coast. Tordenvind Wolfgang Simon grew up in southern Germany and is a qualified physiotherapist. He has long experience as the leader of sea and river kayakking trips, and a background as the national trainer of the Swiss junior canoeing team. Our trips start on Norway´s second largest island, Senja, facing the Atlantic. A beautiful island with a varied landscape. Then we paddle north, towards Sommarøy. White sandy beaches tempt us to rest with our harvest from the sea. Enjoy the food and the view, and feel you are alive. From Sommarøy our journey continues round Håja, a conspicuous island with its precipitous summit. Out here you can meet strong winds and waves, but we set course safely to the south-east, towards Malangen and Balsfjord. Unhurried paddling in fjords with alpine panoramas takes us to Storsteinnes and civilisation. After our farewell dinner in Tordenvind's House it only remains to say goodbye and welcome back. Course for beginners: 10 days – 4 days instruction at one base followed by a 6-day trip. Includes kayak, equipment, tent: 12.000.- NKr. Trial of strength: 12-day trip with demanding sea kayakking in all weather conditions, crossing open sea to the islands: 16.000.- NKr. Sea and mountain: 10-day trip with 7 days on the sea before we leave the boats and spend 3 days on foot in the mountains enjoying the magnificent views of precipitous mountains and wide fjords: 16.000.- NKr.
